Noteworthy: He won the singles championship at the prestigious Ojai tournament. Brown defeated Mira Costa senior Kelly Giese 6-1, 6-4 in the final. His victory helped University win the Ojai team championship for the eighth time (only Santa Barbara has more Ojai team titles, with 14). Brown was seeded second in the 64-player field. “It’s a huge title for me,” said Brown, who signed with UC Santa Barbara. “It’s something I wanted to do at the beginning of the year, winning this (and the) All-American.”
